2 August 2010: Check out the Mason Dixon Master Chef Tournament’s upcoming “Blogger Night” on Monday, August 2nd. If you’re in the greater Baltimore area and would enjoy watching an Iron Chef-style battle between up-and-coming chefs, simply enter code “START” when you purchase tickets on-line.

Special incentive number one: the “Gourmet Food and Cooking Basket” ($250 value) that Master Chef will raffle that night just for those who have purchased tickets using Blogger Night codes. Special incentive number two: if more readers buy tickets using my code (START) than any other, I’ll put you in a drawing for a Baltimore Harbor Cruise aboard the Phillips Food private boat, including complementary cocktails and hors d’oeuvres. So check it out! Thanks!

20 July 2010: I judged a second round competition in the Mason Dixon Master Chef Tournament at the Belvedere in Baltimore, along with Sarah Simington of the Blue Moon Cafe in Fell’s Point and Damon Hersh of Moveable Feast. Justin McGaunn from Dogwood battled it out with Anthony Minidakis of Jimmy’s Famous Seafood. Winner: McGaunn. Congratulations!

17 July 2010: My custom-designed menu was featured at a wedding in northern Pennsylvania. I created a seasonal meal featuring flatbreads, a corn and peach salad with arugula, grilled meats with seasonal vegetables and a bright, herby sauce verte, and raspberry sorbet. For more details, or to chat about a menu for your event, give me a shout!

1 June 2010: I’m donating dinner for up to twelve people – cooked by me at the winner’s home, of course – to the Silent Auction for the Capitol Hill Montessori program at Watkins Elementary School on Saturday, 12 June 2010! Three courses plus dessert. Come on out and bid on this dinner – it’s for a good cause! (I went to a Montessori school, so…)

Eastern Market, 225 7th Street Southeast, Washington, DC. The fun starts at 6pm and goes to 9pm. Admission is $15. For more information, http://www.watkinsmontessori.org/.

26 May 2010: I’ll be appearing at the Great Grapes! Wine, Art, and Music Festival in Cockeysville, MD on Sunday, 13 June 2010. Come to the festival, get some wine, and stop by my panel at 3pm – I’ll be chatting it up with three other Baltimore-area food bloggers!

Tickets and information are available here. The festival takes place Saturday and Sunday, 12-13 June, at Oregon Ridge Park, 13401 Beaver Dam Road, Cockeysville, MD 21030. 18 May 2010: Me again, in New Asian Cuisine, this time with a fusion dish. This time, it’s the recipe for Pork Belly with Bunashimeiji Mushroom and Fennel Salad – again, from these pages.

17 May 2010: Hey, I’m in New Asian Cuisine for Asian American History Month! Check out my recipe for Niu Rou Mian – Taiwanese beef noodle soup – which appeared earlier in these pages.

18 August 2009: I have two out of the five recipes in the James Beard Twitter Recipe Contest – the contest winner gets a trip to the Beard House for cocktails and BBQ. Anita Lo (of Anissa) is judging!
